Here's how it works.
Step 1 Evaluate your current events
CAPITAL VENTURE will do an analysis of your current special events and prepare a report with recommendations for improving, continuing or eliminating each event. Cost per event: $500
Step 2 Conduct a complete Development Audit of your entire Development Program.
Cost for Audit: $5,000 for organizations with fundraising revenues of $100,000 or less; $10,000 for organizations with fundraising revenues between $100,000 and $1,000,000; and $20,000 for organizations with fundraising revenues of $1,000,000 or more.
Step 3 Review results of event analysis and/or audit with executive staff, board, and volunteers.
Cost of Development Planning Workshop: $2,000 plus travel expenses.
Step 4 Choose an event or two events and get a detailed plan for improving the event.
Cost for event plan: $1,000 each event.
Step 5 Complete a Development Plan for your entire development program.
Costs for development plan: $5,000 for organizations with fundraising revenues of $100,000 or less; $10,000 for organizations with fundraising revenues between $100,000 and $1,000,000; and $20,000 for organizations with fundraising revenues of $1,000,000 or more.
Step 6 Form or improve your Development Committee to help implement your plan.
Cost for Development Committee review and or development: $3,000 plus travel expenses.
Step 7 Conduct a board development program to increase the size and strength of your board and involve them in fundraising activities.
Cost for board development: $5,000 plus travel expenses.
Step 8 Implement the Development Plan’s infrastructure component—find appropriate software systems, develop gift acceptance policies and develop a staff development and training program.
Cost for policies, software recommendations and staff recommendations: $5,000.
Step 9 Develop a case for support for your organization and a list of recommended fundraising materials.
Costs for case development: $5,000.
Step 10 Implement the Development Plan’s annual fund component.
Costs to develop a detailed plan for annual fund direct mail, phone appeal, and corporate appeal: $8,000.
Step 11 Implement the Development Plans’ research and cultivation component.
Cost for developing a research and cultivation plan: $3,500.
Step 12 Implement the Development Plan’s major gift and planned giving components.
Costs for developing a major gift program, including training volunteers and staff to make the "ask": $10,000 plus travel expenses.
